My clients are usually purpose-driven and most often work with me when they’re standing on the threshold of a new iteration of their business - maybe a pivot, maybe an expansion of their vision and impact.

You might be struggling with a push-pull around visibility - knowing how crucial it is for your business to grow and simultaneously wanting to be able to create good work and serve your clients while being able to remain invisible to the outer world. One of the things we’re likely to work on together is how to embrace a style of visibility that works for you and how to expand your comfort zone in ways that feel safe and doable - and maybe even fun and exciting.

  • You’re an advocate of thinking globally and acting locally.

  • Justice, inclusion and equity matter to you.

  • You have an intersectional understanding of the world - you know that everything is connected: climate justice, anti-capitalism, anti-racism, biodiversity, feminism...

  • You’re completely turned off by the hustle culture of mainstream online marketing. You don’t want growth for the sake of growth - but you do have a message that you want to get out there.

  • Building community is important to you.

I’m a bit different from most online marketers.

Perhaps because of my background in book publishing, editing and working as a book coach, my approach is much more collaborative. I see our work together as being the co-creation of your messaging, website or relationship marketing strategy. It’s your secret sauce I’m putting into words and pixels, and to do that, I need to really get to know you.

Many copywriters will ask you to fill out a short questionnaire, do a call with you, and then go off and write your copy. If you work with me on your marketing strategy, messaging or web copy, we’ll work together intensively - so that we end up with a strategy, message or writing that feels and sounds like you.

My clients tell me that this approach feels very supportive, like they have a business partner on tap for the week, who’s completely on their side. This work can be quite an intense experience (full disclosure, there are often tears involved), but clients say that the insights they experience make them feel deeply seen, and lead to business strategy that plays to their natural strengths.
