Creative Flow

Creative Flow is a group programme for people who want to write more- in just 3 weeks get your writing mojo back.

From Monday 9 November to Friday 27 November 2026 for £75.

Each week there are calls on Mondays (at 2pm UK time) and Wednesdays (at 5pm UK time) and then on the final Friday (the 27th) there’s a wrap-up call at 5pm UK time.

There’s no need to come to all the calls and there will be recordings of the workshops and coaching Q&A calls.

*If you join the waitlist and then go on to join the programme, you’ll be eligible to be entered for the prize draw to win a 1:1 coaching call with Sophy.

“I've gained so much from working with Sophy! The confidence to identify as a writer, the accountability I need to finally write my first book, a space to get questions answered, some companionship at a time when I really needed it. I've discovered that actually doing the big, scary thing is totally possible when you have the right support.”

- Yarrow Magdalena, participant in a former group writing programme

You want to write more - maybe a book, maybe a course or keynote speech - but between procrastination, perfectionism, work, kids, health issues and a touch of imposter syndrome - you’re mostly avoiding sitting down to write. And when you do make yourself open up your document to get started, you freeze at the sight of the blinking cursor.

You have so many other priorities competing for your attention - you know your writing is important, but it doesn’t feel as urgent as everything else.

BUT, you know you’re not about to get a 6 month sabbatical to spend writing in a cabin in the woods. If you want the writing to happen (and my guess is you really do), you’re going to have to find a way to get past all the mind-gremlins and start sitting down and writing in your real life, right here and now.

So the question has to be - how do we make that happen?

How can you find the time, the energy and the motivation to write regularly enough to get a whole book (or course) written, even with all the constraints of your everyday life?

Because here’s what we both know:

You really do want to write (you wouldn’t still be reading this if you didn’t).

You really do have something valuable to say - it might even be world-changing for the right person.

But hoping for a writing miracle isn’t really a strategy. You’re probably not going to wake up tomorrow to find out that you’ve been awarded a fully funded writing residency (with childcare and someone covering your day job, obvs).

But you could join Creative Flow…

Who am I to support you to write more?

Hey there, I’m Sophy. I’m a book coach, developmental editor and writing mentor, with 25 years’ experience in all aspects of the publishing and book worlds.

I’ve worked with (or interviewed on stage) hundreds of writers, from famous bestselling authors (such as Margaret Atwood, Ian Rankin, Ali Smith or Maggie O’Farrell) to first-timers writing their debuts.

Writing (or trying to write) can be a lonely business – if you would like an expert guide to be there to support you, I can take away the feeling that you have to do it all alone. Instead, someone who understands the challenges you face is right there in your corner.

I want to support you to do what so many of my clients have done before you - actually get their book written. That’s what we’re here to kickstart in Creative Flow.

“I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a specific writing project or wants to commit to writing regularly in a practical way rather than taking a course. I got lots and lots of ideas on how to write, rituals and routines etc - it's really helpful to have that from different people in the group.

It's a space to find your way as a writer, with strong support, encouragement and compassion. There's a simplicity that comes from not having more stuff to do, except write.

I feel like through this time I've really got that sense that I'm a writer. Something on a physical, visceral level feels like I have a call to stand up and speak about what's important to me. When I write I feel a lot less inhibited, and I'm typing and it's just coming out. The aspect of becoming a writer has been really important. It's not a word count thing, it's about how I feel. I'm clearer about what I want and more committed to writing without it feeling like something I should be doing - it's just become part of what I do.”

Reset | Rhythms | Rituals | Rest

What do we cover?

We change up the energy so that you’re ready for a fresh start around your writing.

Reset

This is how you create a writing habit you actually look forward to - and how you learn to ‘flip the switch’ to get into a near-instant flow/deep work state, so you can make the most of the small amounts of time available.

Rituals

We’ll start a micro writing practice - making it so small and so flexible that it’s just not possible to fail.

Rhythms

Frequently overlooked, but actually indispensable, rest and play are your hidden superpowers for re-igniting your desire to write.

Rest

There are 7 live calls as part of the programme - two workshops in week one; two coaching calls in week two; two co-working calls and one closing coaching call in week three. The workshops and coaching calls are recorded, so you can access the replay if you have to miss the call.

There’s also some entirely optional gamification, to help get you into momentum with your writing - so you can choose to take part in a book bingo and/or in a time log leaderboard.

Here’s what clients in similar programmes I’ve run previously have achieved:

  • Got into a regular writing practice they actually enjoyed.

  • Found the time and energy to write, even among competing priorities and a very busy life.

  • Finally uncovered a writing voice that felt natural to them.

  • Fully stepped into their identity as a writer.

  • Finished writing their first draft.

Here’s what you’ll be able to do by the end of the 3 weeks:

You’ll have designed a writing habit that actually fits your life, making it sustainable in the long-term - and you’ll understand how to use cues, habit stacking and rewards to make your new habit stick.

You’ll have built ease, pleasure, creativity and fun into your writing practice, meaning that you’ll actually look forward to writing time.

You’ll have learnt how to work with your brain instead of against it, so that you won’t feel so much resistance around sitting down to write and you’ll know how to ‘flip the switch’ into a flow state, so you can make the most of small pockets of time to work on your book.

This creates a compound effect.

The more you get into the flow of a regular sustainable writing practice, the more you write (obviously!). The more you write, the easier it is to drop into a creative flow state quickly, which means you get more written, whether you have a short period of time available or a week-long retreat.

And the more you write, the more your confidence and motivation grow, which means it’s easier to write more.

“I've reconnected with the energy of the voice that I want the book to embody, and I'm doing things every day to nurture that energy and voice in me. And I've started writing in the voice that I was trying to connect with, which feels really great.

It's a nurturing and supportive experience that can help you to clarify your writing goals and commit to getting the writing done. It can help you to align your personal values with your writing goals and bring a sense of cohesiveness to blend your most authentic self with your writing style and goals.

Sophy is a skillful and supportive guide. It's inspiring to work with someone who brings such a rich background of knowledge and experience to the table.

It's been incredibly helpful. I feel like I got unstuck from so many places that I kept getting stuck.”
